Objectives To promote peace in the world by establishing closer friendships and understanding between the people of the United States and the 23 million people of Taiwan through cultural exchange, educational partnerships and increased economic cooperation. To assist and promote bilateral economic collaboration and development at all levels. Trade and investments in industrial, agricultural and high-tech products will be emphasized. The information on these new opportunities of cooperation will be accessible through the network of TUSA. To promote educational exchange opportunities between the U.S. and Taiwan at all levels of educational institutions and students. These opportunities help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. To continue and expand sponsoring the TUSA Ambassador Summer Scholarship Program providing opportunities for U.S. students to serve as an ambassador of their state and to gain international experience while learning Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese culture. To assist and promote mutual visits of cultural and music performance groups from both countries. For this purpose, our primary focus will be on cultural and youth groups. |
